One may think it’s easy to get around Metro Manila from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport because of its central location. In reality, it could easily become quite the feat, especially during the busier hours of the day. The dire traffic situation in the city is an enduring problem, making traveling and commuting hard.
Fortunately, transportation options from NAIA now include ride-hailing services and point-to-point buses aside from taxis and other regular public transit. However, there’s a flip side to everything. Sometimes, securing car services via a ride-hailing app can take much longer than usual. Plus, the ungodly surcharges can make you want to exit the app!
P2P bus services, on the other hand, are much cheaper, but the available routes are limited to certain areas in Metro Manila. Additionally, multiple transfers may be needed if the designated drop-off station is still a long way to your intended destination.
Fortunately, taxis still exist (Did they ever even disappear?), especially in the Manila airport area. If taking a taxi is the most feasible option for you at the time of your arrival at NAIA, you may choose between fixed-rate and metered taxis. If you don’t want to stress over your fare to your destination from NAIA, coupon taxi rates for Metro Manila areas are made accessible through this post. Here are the fixed rates prescribed by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) per area in Metro Manila as of 2023.

- The LTFRB is responsible for managing the legalities of public land transportation services. Their jurisdiction covers taxis! The rates indicated here are prescribed by the LTFRB as of 2023. Rates are posted at the designated coupon taxi lane at the airport.
- A dispatch coupon/slip will be handed to you at the booth. It contains the following details: the taxi’s plate number, safety reminders, and important contact numbers. Keep it!
- Tipping the driver is not mandatory. Some drivers may ask for an additional fee or a tip, but it’s really up to you.
- The coupon taxi lane is stationed outside the arrival gate. For Terminals 1 and 4, you can easily spot them at the arrival exit. For Terminal 2, the lane is located near Bay 11, while it is across Bay 6 for Terminal 3.
- For foreign visitors, you may want to consider grabbing a local SIM Card or an eSIM or renting a pocket WiFi unit before you leave the Manila airport premises!
