If you’re looking for an unspoiled paradise and to get on the off-the-beaten-path, Seco Island in Antique fits that description. It is part of Tibiao municipality in Antique and is also near Culasi.
This small elbow-shaped island has fine bone-white sand and cerulean waters. Don’t let the idyllic and picturesque appearance deceive you because this island is also an ideal destination for those who want to go kite surfing. So whether it is a quiet day lounging on the beach and swimming or getting an adrenaline rush from kite surfing, Seco Island has a bit of everything that any type of traveler is looking for.

How to Get There
Nearest Airport: Caticlan Airport (Godofredo P. Ramos Airport); Kalibo International Airport; Iloilo International Airport (Cabatuan Airport)
By Air
- The closest airport from Manila to Culasi, the town near Seco Island, is Caticlan. At the airport board a tricycle that will take you to the jetty port.
- From that area, there are buses bound for Culasi.
- Alternatively, book a flight for Iloilo City. Once there, go to the Molo Van and Bus Terminal and board a bus bound for Pandan or Culasi (P200, one way). The trip may take around three hours.
- From Culasi you can get to Seco Island by hiring a boat; the cost is around P3000, depending on the size of the group. The trip to the island takes approximately three hours.
The flight tickets to Caticlan are often expensive that’s why most people book a flight bound for Kalibo instead. From Kalibo, there are buses bound for San Jose, tell the driver you’ll alight at Culasi. The fare is around P120 and will take approximately two hours.
By Sea
- Alternatively, you can get to the island by boarding a bus bound for Batangas pier from Manila and getting on an overnight and day boats bound for Caticlan. 2GO has three trips during the week (Sunday, Monday and Thursday); the lowest fare, the super value class, costs around P1,264 (one way).
- From the ferry terminal, look for the buses bound for Culasi (P200, one way).
- From Culasi you can get to Seco Island by hiring a boat; the cost is around P3000, depending on the size of the group. The trip to the island takes approximately three hours.

- Cottage Rental Fee: There are no cottages on the island.
Don’t Miss
- Seco Island is a famous destination for kite surfers; this is a good place to try this sport.
- Swimming, beach bumming, snorkeling, camping and trekking are some of the activities you can do while on the island.
Don’t Forget
- Bring cash as you’ll use it for most, if not all of your transactions.
- If you plan to go camping, bring a tent, sleeping bag, enough food and snacks, swimwear, extra clothes, hygiene kit, mosquito repellent, and snorkeling gear.
- There’s no electricity/power source on the island; bring flashlight or lamp and battery packs or power banks.
- Leave only footprints and memories, not trash.
