Batangas is a favorite weekend or summer destination because of its accessibility from Manila and other cities surrounding the province. This comes as no surprise because it has a number of mountains that are easy to do as a day or overnight camping trip. The vistas are beautiful and the trails relatively easy, even for beginners.
Other than hiking the mountains, the province is also a popular place to visit because of the beaches, which are accessible by public transportation or private car, making them viable quick getaways for weekend warriors. Masasa Beach, Fortune Island, Sombrero Island, Sepoc Beach, and Laiya are just some of the places you can visit to enjoy swimming, wading, bumming around, relaxing, and getting a tan. The mix of white to cream-colored shores, cerulean waters, and swaying trees make for a beautiful and serene backdrop.
Batangas’ beaches are beautiful on the surface, but what lies beneath its waters are just as magnificent. The province is also a diving destination; there are a lot of resorts and scuba schools concentrated in Anilao, Mabini. These offer packages ranging from affordable to expensive that include instructor fees, room, and board, transportation, and equipment.
The province also has a number of historical landmarks if you want to know more about its past and culture. There are heritage houses in various states of repair and restoration and old churches that are remnants of Spanish influence.
You can make Lipa City your base for exploring all the natural and historical attractions the province has to offer. The city has a variety of accommodations for all types of budgets. There are malls nearby to shop or dine in during your stay. There are also fast-food chains and local restaurants, food stalls, or carinderias where you can try the local fare.
