The waters surrounding Bohol are home to a multitude of lifeforms including various species of corals, dolphins, fish, sea turtles, and whales. (Sightings of the blue whale, the biggest creature on this planet, have been recorded in Bohol Sea many times.) It is part of the so-called Coral Triangle, the richest in biodiversity in the world.
But the wonders of Bohol are not limited to what’s underneath the waves. Above the surface are stunning, white-fringed islands, including Balicasag Island. This circular wonderland is just a boat ride away from Panglao Island. It is one of the best and most popular snorkeling and diving destinations in the province.
These marvels of Balicasag Island, both above and under the surface, are what we wanted to capture using a Panasonic GH-4 camera, a DJI Inspire 1 drone, and a Gopro Hero 4 Silver. Here’s what we came up with:
