Cagayan Valley is the country’s second-largest region in terms of land area and no patch of terrain or ripple of water is wasted in terms of beauty as it cradles breathtaking natural settings: from lush woodlands and imposing mountains to majestic waterfalls, rustling rivers, and enchanting caves.
Cagayan is composed of five provinces—Isabela, Batanes, Cagayan, Quirino, and Nueva Vizcaya—but no matter how nomadic explorations may lead, there will surely be an amazing destination in the Valley awaiting the discerning wanderer.
Thrill-seekers can take their love for adventure in an inflatable boat and go whitewater rafting in the Chico River while worshippers of nature’s pure magnificence can spelunk in Callao Cave, where a chapel is situated, and venerate its limestone chambers.
Meanwhile, Palaui Island offers an arresting view of the big blue ocean and verdant landscapes for vacationers tired of the city’s mundane backdrop. The island located off the northeastern tip of Luzon dazzles as one of the best beaches and islands in the Philippines as reported by CNN.
These are just some of the wonders found in Mikoy Martinez’s video of his recent journey to Cagayan. Other places featured in his film produced using a GoPro HERO4 Silver and Sony Alpha 5100 are the Pinacanauan River in Peñablanca and the Tuguegarao Cathedral.
