It has been almost two years since the COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench into our normal lives, and safety protocols remain in place especially at international borders and airports. To better control and manage the pandemic, the Philippines – through the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) – continues to implement mandated quarantine and testing procedures for international travelers arriving in the country from abroad.

Upon arrival to the Philippines, unvaccinated and partially vaccinated international travelers and those whose vaccination status can’t be validated must undergo mandatory quarantine at a facility or hotel accredited by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ). If you’re not an OFW who falls under that category, you may need to present confirmed booking with an accredited hotel. The DOH and BOQ have accredited a couple of hundred of properties throughout Metro Manila, but many of them can be quite expensive. Because you will need to book a room for a number of days, the cost easily adds up.

For this reason, we called the accredited hotels one by one and asked how much their most affordable rooms cost and compile those that picked up in just one article. For this list, we only included properties that charge lower than P2000 (if no meals) or P2500 (if inclusive of meal/s). But before that, here are a few reminders:

Passengers can be subjected to two types of quarantine: stringent and mandatory. Stringent Quarantine is required for travelers coming from ‘high-risk’ areas included in the WHO’s list. Other passengers with flu-like symptoms according to the assessment of a health officer at the airport will also be classified as such and must stay at a stringent quarantine facility. Mandatory Quarantine is for all the other passengers traveling to the Philippines that are not mentioned above.
This is based on the same list released by the BOQ. But some hotels may implement certain rules. It’s best to contact the hotel first before booking for the latest updates because policies may change.
This list includes only relatively budget-friendly options. The rates indicated here are based on their answers when we inquired and/or on the price displayed on online hotel booking websites. These rates may vary without notice so check the latest rates through the links provided or call the establishment directly.
Make sure that the location of the hotel you want to book is in your preferred area of Metro Manila. The hotels near NAIA Terminals 1, 2, or 3 are located in Parañaque City and Pasay City. Some hotels in Makati City and Manila are also accessible from NAIA. We included the address of the hotels for your reference.
Most hotels only allow SINGLE OCCUPANCY. But there are also some that accept room sharing for those guests from the same household and on the same flight. We provided links for you to check out the photos, so you can decide if you are okay with the facilities before booking.
Make sure to check the inclusions before booking. Some hotels include full board meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) in the published rates, while others only include breakfast only or none at all, especially the cheaper options.
