Good news to our followers in Australia and New Zealand! Now there are more ways to reach the Philippines as Philippine Airlines, the country’s flag-carrier and Asia’s first airline, has launched flights to Cairns and Auckland.
At the #TravelPAL Bloggers’ Night held last December 14 at Aracama in Bonifacio Global City, PAL Vice President for Marketing Ria Domingo expressed her excitement saying that the new Manila-Cairns-Auckland route will boost travel between these destinations.
Aussies, Kiwis, and Overseas Filipino Workers now have more options in flying to Manila, which will connect them to all the destinations the Philippines has to offer including Boracay, Cebu, and Palawan, currently ranked World’s Best Island.
According to Auckland Airport, this is the first time a commercial airline has operated scheduled services between New Zealand and the Philippines. The journey will have a one-hour transit time in Cairns. Meanwhile, passengers coming from Cairns will enjoy non-stop flights to the Philippine capital.
Likewise, this also means better access for Filipinos. Australia and New Zealand are two aspirational destinations among Pinoys. Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, a world wonder. Atherton Tablelands and Daintree Rainforest are also worth a visit. On the other hand, New Zealand’s most precious gems such as Hobbiton, Sky Tower, and Mt. Cook also await more tourists.
