Vacationers who fancy Palawan as their next destination are often confounded by the dilemma of which among the island province’s premier tourist attractions they should visit first: Coron, Puerto Princesa, or El Nido. The choice echoes the same complexity one encounters when asked to make a decision during cheat day: bacon, pizza, or chocolate. The parallelism may sound silly, but with Palawan’s triumvirate of picturesque havens being delectably satisfying to the senses, it isn’t much of a logical stretch.
Luckily for us, Dax Victorino, head honcho of his eponymous film company, filmed a short video to document his trips to Puerto Princesa and El Nido three years ago. Let this be the shot to hit those two proverbial birds.

Dax’s video highlights Palawan’s hard edges (think of pebbled trails and commanding boulders) and soft sides (think of floating on crystal-clear water and breezy tricycle rides with cheery drivers). Of course, when you speak of Puerto Princesa, you speak of its world-famous Underground River, which in 2011 was named one of the New7Wonders of Nature. El Nido, on the other hand, boasts of islands and lagoons whose pulchritude is unparalleled.
Here’s a list of the toys Dax used for the footage:
– Canon T2i
– Steadicam Merlin
– Tokina 11-16 mm and Canon 24-70L
– Magic Lantern
