Makati is part of the National Capital Region and is one of the premier business, shopping, and entertainment districts in the country. You’ll find plenty of highly rated and top quality hotels when you look for accommodations during your stay.
Many expats and would-be startups make Makati their point of entry or their base in doing business in the Philippines. Outside the towering skyscrapers and company meetings, you’ll find plenty to do, places to eat, and choices of which brands to buy.
The Ayala Museum holds different exhibits that display the country’s cultural and historical heritage. A visit is a good way to spend a day or half a day while in the city. The Greenbelt complex consisting of different outlets and restaurants, a park, cinemas, and a chapel provide you with several dining, entertainment, and shopping options.
You can rest and relax at one of the coffee shops in the park area of Greenbelt after a day of exploring the bustling metropolis. You can shop till you drop during the mall-wide sales that occur almost every month; you have plenty of brands (both local and foreign) to choose from. There is also a lot of local, Asian and Western cuisine if you want to spend a bit more on food.
If you’re looking for green spaces amid the concrete jungle, visit Ayala Triangle Gardens, Washington Sycip Park, and Legazpi Park, just to name a few. If your visit falls or extends through the weekend, the Salcedo Saturday Market is a good place to try all sorts of food, whether Filipino or international.
The places you can visit and things you can do will depend on which part of the city you stay in. Makati is well connected by public transportation such as jeeps and metro lines, but it is also a walkable metropolis where you can go on foot to where you want to go. If you are planning to stay in Makati, here are the top hotels as rated by Agoda users, in no particular order.
