Tacloban is the gateway to the attractions that Eastern Visayas offers. The city is a transport hub in various directions; you can visit the pristine beaches in the south and explore the undiscovered attractions of Samar. The city itself has a couple of attractions for those who want to spend a day or so exploring. One of the most famous sites is the MacArthur Landing Memorial; it is a tribute to the American General who fulfilled his promise that he would return. You can also visit other attractions such as the Sto. Nino Shrine and Heritage Museum and the Madonna of Japan while exploring. If you want to go on a food trip, Tacloban has delicious grilled food, binagol, and a chocolate moron.

Many visitors choose Tacloban because it is a common jump-off point to the famous Kalanggaman Island in Palompon. The island gained popularity because of its pristine white shore and cerulean waters. It’s the perfect beach getaway for those who want to spend a day just relaxing and unwinding.

Another destination you can consider going to is Samar; before you make it there, you’ll cross the famous San Juanico Bridge. Once you make it to the province, you can visit a few caves and national parks such as Sohoton and Lobo. Sohoton National Park is more accessible to tourists who want to explore the cave and go on a scenic boat ride. On the other hand, Lobo Cave is more difficult because of the narrow walkways, an underground river, and a challenging trail.
