Baguio Eats & Restaurants

Farmer’s Daughter

Many restaurants in Baguio offer different cuisines. You’ll find Japanese, Italian, Korean, and Chinese dishes among others. But if you’re like us who delights in trying out local food when traveling, visit Farmer’s Daughter!

Farmer's Daughter Baguio

This restaurant offers traditional Cordillera dishes as well as some Ilocano fare. When you get here, you’ll usually order first before going into their traditional hut since the tables inside are limited. Each à la carte item is good for two, but can probably be shared by three people if you’re ordering multiple dishes anyway.

The bestseller here is Kinuday, a dish that’s commonly eaten in households here in Benguet and neighboring provinces. Kinuday is smoked meat, which is available in three options: pork, beef, or chicken. But our team was told that this is traditionally made with pork, so that’s what we decided to order.

Another item on the menu that our team really liked is Pinuneg or Ibaloi blood sausage. It is made with pork meat, pork fat, and pig’s blood stuffed in a casing made of pork intestines. If you’re familiar with dinuguan, think of it as a sausage version of that. Pinuneg is sautéed with leeks, onions, and then served with lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber.

Our team also tried Pinikpikan, a traditional chicken soup dish with etag or salted meat. It’s like a more flavorful tinola. Another dish that we recommend you try here is Dinakdakan, which is grilled or charred pork ears, tongue, and snout, dressed in pig’s brain. For dessert, our team ordered its bestselling ube cake. If you’re planning to visit Igorot Stone Kingdom or Tam-awan Village, have your lunch here at Farmer’s Daughter Restaurant!

Opening Hours: Monday, 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM; Tuesday to Friday, 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM; Weekends, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Address: Long Long Benguet Road, Barangay Pinsao Proper, Baguio City

Good Taste Café & Restaurant

Good Taste is one of the most popular restaurants in Baguio and your trip wouldn’t be complete without trying it. Among the reasons why it became iconic is its accessibility. They are open 24 hours, so no matter what time of day you get hungry, you know you can count on Good Taste. And best of all, the menu is affordable and the servings are huge! Because of this, it is very popular with big groups of friends or families both tourists and locals alike.

Good Taste

Among the dishes that you should try here is the Buttered Chicken, a breaded fried chicken dish coated with red butter-based sauce. It’s a bit sweet; not spicy at all. But if you love spicy food, you can order the hot and Spicy Garlic Buttered Chicken instead.

Good Taste also has different types of noodle dishes like canton, sotanghon, bihon, and miki bihon. Each order is good for four, but party trays for 12 to 25 people are also available. Other dishes that our team has tried here are Patatim, which is really huge and tofu with vegetables.

If you’re not traveling with a big group, you’re still welcome to dine here because aside from their dishes for group sharing, combo meals are also offered. For only P170 to P270, you’ll get a plate of rice and viand. Finally, if you’re looking for dessert or snacks, Good Taste also serves cakes, various desserts, and breads.

456 Restaurant

Located along Session Road, 456 Restaurant is another place you can go to during late nights because it’s open 24 hours. It serves mostly Chinese dishes that you can either order from a menu — if you want it freshly cooked for you — or choose from the carinderia or turo-turo set-up.

When you order from the menu, each serving is good for sharing. When our team dined here, we ordered the bestselling Mapo Tofu. It’s a Chinese dish that originated from Sichuan Province. It is made with silken tofu, ground pork, and different types of chili, making it very spicy.

Our teammate Asta also tried the Pork Ribs which was served on a bed of broccoli. The serving was huge that it was more than enough to share with the group. Another dish our team tried is the Fried Noodles which has shrimps, ham, veggies, mushrooms, and eggs.

Ili-Likha Artist’s Village

Ili-Likha-Baguio

If you like variety, a food park might be a good option for you. Ili-Likha Artist’s Village is a food park located on Assumption Road. It was established by the National Artist Kidlat Tahimik in 2014. The area is tree-house themed, which exhibits the importance of preserving nature and culture through arts and food.

Ili-Likha Balbacua

Within the food park are multiple homegrown food kiosks. One of the most popular here that has also made its mark on our team is BALBACUA. This kiosk is known for 3 Bs: Bellychon, Breakfast, and Balbacua — a beef stew dish usually made with collagen-rich parts of the beef that’s common in some parts of Visayas and Mindanao.

Teahouse Restaurant & Bakeshop

But what it’s really popular for is the streamline cakes, which are a must for any occasion. However, if you don’t need a whole cake and just want something for dessert, you can grab their premium and classic cakes in small sizes. Our team tried Chona’s Delight, which is chocolate cake in a tub and the Ube Yema Cheese Delight.

Our teammates are really raving about these cakes saying that this is one of the best cakes they have tried in Baguio. They liked the cakes so much that they ended up going back to try other flavors — Gil’s Strawberry shortcake and Yema Cheese. According to them, the cakes are on the sweet side, but not to the point where you’ll get sick of it.

Sizzling Plate

For Pinoys who are frequent mall-goers, you might be wondering why Sizzling Plate is on this list when you can find this in Manila. It also has dishes that are a bit pricey so it might not really fit in the cheap category too. But hear us out.

Sizzling Plate Session Road

Sizzling Plate originated in Baguio City. Yes, this food court staple that has been iconic to many of us hails from the Summer Capital. Established in 1978, it has been offering affordable steaks to tourists and residents ever since. There are multiple branches around the city, but the most notable is probably the one in Session Road. However, the most convenient branch to visit might be the one in SM Baguio.

Raff’s Fried Chicken

Raff’s Fried Chicken is not really a restaurant, but more like an eatery. Located at Military Cut-off, it is popular among locals, mostly drivers and staff at a nearby hospital. But its fried chicken became viral on TikTok and it made tourists curious about it too. We haven’t gotten the chance to try this, but our teammate who is based in Baguio did.

Raff's Fried Chicken

According to him, their fried chicken is crispy on the outside and tender inside. He said it tasted good and that it’s “like KFC, but without the 11 spices.” Next time we find ourselves in Baguio, we’ll make sure to try their fried chicken too!

Whenever we’re on a trip, our team agrees that having street food is a must! And you won’t have a hard time finding them in Baguio. Number one on our list is the strawberry ice cream. Yes, even when it’s cold in Baguio. You’ll find ice cream vendors in parks like Burnham Park and Wright Park. Don’t miss trying the strawberry taho or ube taho either. This is available in most tourist spots in the city.

Baguio Food Night Market

If you’re planning to go to Baguio Night Market, there’s also a section dedicated to food here. After shopping for some clothes and accessories, end your day with some Pinoy favorites like kwek-kwek, ihaw-ihaw, and binatog.
