To put the beauty of the Philippines in a nutshell is like packing your things for a yearlong trip in a coin purse.

There are just so many cities, provinces, and islands in the Philippines that when you try to come up with a generalization to characterize its grandeur, your précis won’t be precise. But this didn’t stop Houston-based Marc Azucena in attempting to document the élan of his recent trip to the PH. His stops: Manila, Cebu, Bohol, Dumaguete, and Apo Island.

See the video below:

In his video, he encapsulated the merriment brought about by diving, surfing, kayaking, dipping (both in sea and pool), snorkeling, and enjoying the plummeting waters of the Tumalog Falls.

He and his adventure-loving friends also experienced swimming with sea turtles in Apo Island. They also featured the whale sharks in Cebu, which we HIGHLY DISCOURAGE anyone from doing. (How they run whale shark tours in Oslob is NOT sustainable, and until it is addressed and for as long as they keep feeding wildlife, we ask everyone to NOT try this.)

Up in the air, they were zip-lining, beholding the lush trees below their momentarily flying bodies.

Back on land, they saw places their wonder couldn’t contain. Bohol’s world-famous Chocolate Hills clearly left with them a sweet impression they would happily take back with their purchased souvenirs.

The locals, who sang and danced, also treated the group with hospitality that’s distinctly Filipino.

Here’s a list of some of the places that were part of Marc and co.’s itinerary:

  • Villa De Gloria
  • Alona Beach
  • Loboc River
  • Loboc Eco-Tourism Adventure Park
  • Tumalog Falls
  • Chocolate Hills

The video, according to him, was done 95% using GoPro HERO3 Black Edition + Feiyu Tech G4 and 5% iPhone 6.
